Let me tell you an incident that happened today, which is prompting me to write this post. UPSC is a huge business market and have huge potential to grow, with all the myth and hype surrounding this exam fear mixed with ignorance is causing aspirants to lose lot of their money(Some times).

For clarification Purposes, My name is kalyan , and I humbly say I am  a fellow aspirant like most of you, please dont mistake me for ” Kalyan Sir ” or some other guy with same name who might be doing a business ,making money out of aspirants.

as most of you know we post stuff which helps new aspirants in this field, as we mentioned in our About us page, we never claimed to be experts or offer any material of our own ! one such post is how to subscribe to Yojana and Kurukshetra online ! few people mailed us regarding delivery of yojana and related issues , we humbly suggest them we are merely messengers and not work in Yojana or Kurukshetra.

Yesterday I received a mail from some one :

Hi..

I had placed an order on 25th April… My payment id is 14xxxx976 paid to the account in name of prasad. Have received no updates in this regard so far. Can u please tell me when will the consignment reach. Please make it asap.

I thought this is about Yojana magazine !

So I replied :

they send yojana 1st week of every month. Hope you will get your copy soon. We are not yojana officials, The confirmation mail you get after ordering will have their contact mail.

Yet in the morning I got this mail :

I had placed my order for multiple coaching notes on 25/4/2017 worth INR 2430. Amount was deducted from my account. However i have not received any email from the website. Nor amy other communication till day about my order. Attaching a screenshot of the msg received with the mail.

Please look into the matter and resolve asap.

I was surprised , why on earth some one will ask me about this details, may be misunderstanding or we are not making it clear . Hence writing this post to explain.

We are not !

• WE are NOT Affiliated with ANY SIR/ Institute or even a xerox shop ,
• we do not do business with UPSC aspirants.
• We just recommend / Suggest / share already freely available material .
• We do not do Telegram group pooling business,
• we do not encourage or promote any one who do business on our channel or site.
• We provide help freely and we believe in that.

Yes we do make money from amazon and adsense to pay our internet and hosting bills.  Which are 1200 and 650 respectively per month. SO Please do not mistake us with any one else and do not contact us with mistaken identity. Like the Bank ad’s say we dont ask for any of your details nor your money 🙂

For people who are new to this UPSC business , In god’s name please do not buy material from any one and every one ! Grow up people enough material is freely available in various telegram channels and sites and more than you will ever need .

If you need material and other stuff ,

• Mruanl.org  he is fully legitimate and offers free guidance . His youtube channel is awesome.
• Insights on India they provide paid test series which is very good , and rest all materials they provide freely in their download page.
• Vision IAS they are also paid test series and coaching institute, but they offer you free materials in their resource pages.
• If you use above three sources and The Hindu really wisely you honestly get into service. Dont take my word for it listen to artika shukla
• Vajiram and Shankar IAS are famous institutes which also offer material in their sites, we are not endorsing any one.
• Merely saying which institutes are famous and popular.
• Shashid thankur and freeupscmaterials.wordpress.com are two sites which share all shades of materials for all stages of this exam.
• Flavido also sells materials of famous institutes in xerox/print format.

Please take a minute and think about it, dont buy materials from shady sites and institutes, what most people need is already freely available, dont join telegram pooling , I understand most of you are very far from UPSC centers and working from remote areas, ignorance and hype about this exam may make you want to buy all materials .It is not at all worth it , buy and read what every one is reading and from popular common sources.

PIB released this update on CSAT under Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions today stating that some changes in the prelims patters. They did not mention from when the changes will takes place.

Civil Services Examination

The Government has approved the following in respect of Civil Services Examination:

• An Expert Committee would be constituted to comprehensively examine various issues raised from time to time namely, eligibility, syllabus, scheme and pattern of Civil Services Examination.

• Till such time the Government takes decision on the recommendation of the above Committee, the General Studies Paper-II(CSAT) in the Civil Services(Preliminary) Examination will remain a qualifying paper with a minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.

• The English Language comprehension skill portion from General Studies Paper-II of Civil Services(Preliminary) Examination will continue to remain excluded.

• The above decisions are incorporated in the CSE Rules-2015.
